拉丝型抽芯铆钉的铆钉钉芯被拉进铆体后，在专用铆钉枪（气动铆枪，电动铆枪，手动铆枪）枪头-环切（突出）枪头作用下，钉芯断钉处会翻边入铆体凹槽内，形成“机械外锁”，锁紧钉芯。

 拉丝铆钉具有良好的填充孔性能、气密性好、铆接强度高。拉丝铆钉适用于表面要求较高、铆接强度要求高、对密封性要求高的铆接领域。
